How do we say 'very' جدًا in arabic, does د have a shaddah on it?

Yes you are correct to say جداً but it is the alif that has the fathatani and not the د

This is not specifically true. In fact, it would be more correct to say that the tanween is on the daal and not the alif. However, you can use both interchangeably.

Please note that the daal does have a shaddah on it.
