Assalamu Alaikum
I was just wondering what rule the following phrases follow and what they mean.
حرفُ الإستفهامِ
I know that this phrase means 'The particle of interrogation' as both words are definite and they follow the rule of possession
حرفُ جرٍّ -preposition
This also seems to follow the ruling of possession, what does this phrase literally mean, using the equational form 'X of Y'
مضافٌ إليهِ -possessed
Does this phrase follow the pattern of possession as the first word has tanween (corrected in my homework) as opposed to the last word which shows that it is definite but with no 'ال' in front of it. Again, what does this phrase literally mean and why do they not agree in terms of definition? Why is it not Mudaafu Ilayhi
Jazakum Allahu Khayran
