السلام عليكم

You are correct! Hans Wehr states:

عَظِيمٌ (sing.) عُظَمَاءُ (plural, diptote)
means: great, big, large, strong, powerful, mighty, grand, grandiose, imposing, imporatnt, stately, magnigicent, lofty, exalted, august, sublime, splendid, gorgeous, glorious, superb, huge, vast, prodigious, enormous, tremendous, immense, stupendous, hard, distressing, gruesome, trying, oppressive.

rendered from the verb: عَظُمَ = to be great, grand....

مع السلامة
