The 99 Names of Allah أسماء الله الحسناء

السلام عليكم

The task is to make a list of all the 99 names of Allah and their translations أن شاء الله

I'll begin with:

الرَّحْمَانُ - The All-Beneficent

مع السلامة

البَصيرُ

The All Seeing



The feeling that someone important is looking at you makes you act in a noble way with dignity and caution. To a believer the most important one to see his doings is Allah.

وَقُلِ اعۡمَلُوۡا فَسَيَرَى اللّٰهُ عَمَلَكُمۡ وَرَسُوۡلُهٗ وَالۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ‌ؕ وَسَتُرَدُّوۡنَ اِلٰى عٰلِمِ الۡغَيۡبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُمۡ بِمَا كُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ‌ۚ‏

Consciousness of Allah will surely make you reach the level of Ihsan. Observing care in speech is the key to righteousness. Insha'Allah

الحَقُّ- The Truth

Say: "Who is it that provides you with sustenance out of heaven and earth,
or who is it that has full power over your hearing and sight?
And who is it that brings forth the living out of that which is dead,
and brings forth the dead out of that which is alive?
And who is it that governs all that exists?"
And they will surely answer, "It is God."
Say, then: "Will you not, then, become fully conscious of Him --
seeing that He is God, your Sustainer, the Ultimate Truth?
For, after the truth has been forsaken, what is there left but error?
How, then can you lose sight of the truth?"
Yunus 10:31-32, tr. Asad

Through the window between heart and heart
flashes the light that tells truth from lie...

المجيب

The One who answers all.

الغَفُورُ - The Forgiver and Hider of Faults

Remember the time when We said:
"Enter this land, and eat of its food as you may desire, abundantly;
but enter the gate humbly and say,
"Remove Thou from us the burden of our sins,"
whereupon We shall forgive you your sins,
and shall amply reward the doers of good.
Al-Baqarah 2:58, tr. Asad

O, happy the soul that saw its own faults,
and if anyone mentioned a fault,
wished eagerly to take responsibility --
for half of each person
has always belonged to the realm of fault,
but the other half belongs
to the Realm of the Unseen.
Rumi, Mathnawi II:3-34-3035, tr. Helminski

Those who fail to see their stupidity...are in a temporary lull of bliss...Be not afraid to make mistakes and ask for forgiveness...for Arrogance diminishes Wisdom...

اللَطِيفُ - The Subtle One; The Inexpressible, Unfathomable

Such is God, your sustainer:
there is no deity save Him, the Creator of everything:
worship, then, Him alone --
for it is He who has everything in His care.
No human vision can encompass Him,
whereas he encompasses all human vision:
for He alone is unfathomable, all-aware.
Al-An'am 6:101-3, tr. Asad

The All Peace

Al-Qurtubi points out that the scholars have agreed that the meaning of this attribute revolves around "to be safe or sound" or "to greet". Based on this, scholars have dentified three possible meanings:

1. the One who is free of defects in Him, His attributes, His actions, and His speech. He is free from resembling any of His creatures. He possesses the attributes of Majesty and Honor. He as well as all of His attributes are free from any defects or imperfections. His living is free from the defect of death, sleep and slumber. His knowledge is free from the imperfection of forgetfulness and the need to remember and think. His Hearing and Sight are true and real and best fit His majesty.

2. The One who greets His servants in Paradise, as in "[It will be said to them] 'Salaamun (peace be on you)', a Word from the Lord, Most Merciful."

3. The One who protects His creation from oppression from Him. *

A believer by following the will of Allah lives in Peace with himself and with other human beings, with the universe, and with his Lord.
