Please translate the following from Suratil Baqarah searching any new verbs/nouns that have not yet been encountered. Please provide any additional explanation where you see necessary.

وَاللَّهُ يَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

السلام عليكم

وَاللَّهُ - And Allah
يَهْدِي - Guides
مَن - Who
يَشَاءُ - (he) wills/wishes*
إِلَىٰ - to
صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ - a straight path*

*Firstly, I feel that although it is seemingly clear that Allah is guiding therefore he wills, however, I was wondering as the subject is not necessarily mentioned - could يَشَاءُ (he wills) have a different meaning where the 'he' (subject) of the verb refers to the person who wishes to go on the straight path. So for example, could the translation be 'Allah guides - (whosoever) wishes - to a straight path'? (The image of the servant taking a step towards the Lord and his Lord runs to him - comes to mind, as if Allah guiding and his servant wishing for guidance, are both taking a step towards the other).

*Secondly, I wondered why is it that the indefinite 'a' is used? I always assumed that since there is only one straight path, that it would be referred to a الصِرَاطِ المُّسْتَقِيمِ ?

I found this ayah very beautiful and interesting سبحان الله

مع السلامة
